Region 2 PAL on Region 1 Mac

Post by I_am_Mui »

Can I Handbrake a Region 2 PAL disk and view the MP4 on my Mac?

There is a movie I always wanted, but the vendor tells me that it is Region 2 PAL.

I have never bought any PAL or Non-Region 1 disks.

I would be using MakeMKV to capture the disk first and then handbrake to read the resulting .ISO file.

HandBrake vers 1.7.3 & MakeMKV 1.17.6
Mac Sonoma 14.3.1

Thanks

Yes, although better to make an MKV with MakeMKV.

MakeMKV cannot make ISO images though (unless they've added the capability recently). It can make a full backup of Blu-ray discs or create MKV files from either DVD or Blu-ray, both of which can be played on a Mac using VLC or similar software.
