Ausgabeformat anpassen

Post by klausbremst »

HandBrake handles anamorphic correctly by default; without a required log we cannot know if your source is broken or if it's user error. It's difficult enough to help you due to the language barrier, so if you're not going to cooperate a little you might want to look for a German-speaking video forum instead.

Google Translate wrote:HandBrake verarbeitet anamorphotische Bilder standardmäßig korrekt.

I switch to EN; the protocol is in English, anyway.
And sorry, I do understand now, that the protocol is mandatory.
Not sure, whether there is a technical or user error.
Anyway, my source is 720 x 574 and I like to change 720 -> 1024 in order to get an 16 : 9 output
I tried, bat I did not manage the change.

finally, I found the solution in this post below in italic:

however the preview did not change directly; In order to see the aspect change, I had to run the preview test-encoding first.
This is confusing; maybe I find a better way to init the change in an easier and more direct way.

I think you don't need to set anamorphic to custom, it should stay set to automatic, I meant to say to disable the "Automatic" checkbox after the final size. The GUI should behave the same way, it mostly use the same code to calculate the size, but there could be a bug somewhere, https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/issues/3885 for example.

Code: Select all

[16:54:08] WARNING: Video PAR 1:1 != container PAR 64:45
[16:54:08] scan: 10 previews, 720x576, 25.000 fps, autocrop = 0/2/0/0, aspect 1.25:1, PAR 1:1, color profile: 5-1-6, chroma location: left
The pixel aspect is set correctly at the container but not bitstream level. HandBrake prioritizes bitstream-level PAR as more reliable, although in this case it isn't (your source file is "broken").

The post you quoted may help you work around the problem.

I understand:
the activity log is very usefull indead.
However both container and Video PAR are wrong; correct is 16:9 and but I managed a work around.
Currenty my "handbrake" is busy - when encode is done, I will test how to see the aspect change in an more direct way ...

A "nice to have".
I am missing the effective bit rate (not the header bit rate) of an video in the general tab.
Should I post a proposal, or is something planned already? Or have I missed some information available?

No, there is no such thing as a 16:9 pixel aspect ratio, only the display aspect ratio (5:4 * 64:45 == 16:9).

Has a change that should allow HandBrake do detect the correct aspect for your sources automatically: https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/commit/ea15802
