Looking for a Low Consumption but fast CPU

Post by Hanbrakeur »

Hello, please recommend me a low consumption but fast CPU to use with Handbrake x265 1080p Encoding.

I don't care whether it's AMD or Intel and I don't care about the price. You can also recommend a compatible Motherboard.

THANK YOU.

An underclocked 13th gen Intel that fits your budget.

Thank you. What do you think of the i9-13900T ? It has a 35W TDP.

Sure, or even the 13700T won't be much different, but is 40% cheaper.

Thanks for this great advice ! I knew I could count on you guys to recommend me a good CPU  Energy is getting very expensive here in France so when I buy something that will be switched on 24/7, power consumption is a very important criteria.

There's always an M2 Pro Mac mini or a Mac Studio, although the price of the machine clearly offsets much of the money saved on electricity, so if it's a question of budget, I guess a standalone CPU to go in an existing PC is indeed the better choice :-)
