Description of problem or question:

I open file; blue line stops before completion and program freezes


Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

Select file to Handbrake and Open


HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.5.1 (2022011000)

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

OS X Monterey 12.6 M1 Mac
NOTE: Activity Log obtained in Handbrake; using your directory method results in folder fr.handbrake.HandBrakeXPCService which does not have Activity Log deeper inside.

All these views and not one suggestion in response - How disappointing.

Well when one has lemons, use a "workaround"

So I went back to the original source disc from which these MKV were created and used Handbrake v1.3.3 on my Intel Mac with OS X High Sierra and transcoded the files from there!

Sorry to see how low the proficiency of this forum has become; but thank you anyway!

I would try reripping with makemkv.

Ripping with Handbrake 1.3.3 and VLC worked like a charm! :)

It hasn't been supported for over a decade and doesn't always work.

With all due respect, you're both coming late to this game.

I posted the problem after using the latest version of Handbrake and no one replied with help.

I had finished watching the full eight episodes of this series and was anxious to watch the "extras" using digital files on my AppleTV.

So I went back to the drawing board and used a "workaround" that solved the problem.

Now you want to criticize the workaround?!?

Hey, we're all busy guys but no one responded and I wanted to watch this content.

How is "not a very good one" that worked worse than a better one that didn't work?!?

We still don't know if your suggestion would have solved the problem.

All we know is that you want me to "rerip" which in essence is exactly what I did while waiting for 200 readers with zero responses!

I could take the time to try out your suggestion, just for giggles, but we all know that DVDs rip and sometimes don't rip so easily. So attempting your way, is something I will keep in mind the next time, if ever, the current version of Handbrake on my M1 Mac freezes during initial opening of file.

It has never happened to me before and I doubt it will happen again.
