Description of problem or question:
Hi, I am new in this forum and I don't have any experience with build software. I found in StaxRip that exist modified x265-aMod encoder which add --aq-mode=5 (Adaptive quantization with auto-variance, better edge preservation, and bias to dark scenes. Only in aMod), before two months.
It is on https://github.com/DJATOM/x265-aMod.
Do you have any idea how to add it to HandBrake, please? How to combine this guide https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/dev ... ndows.html with add x265-aMod from GitHub to HnadBrake Git folder for compilate at once together (for make works -x265-params "aq-mode=5" in HandBrake), please?
Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
--aq-mode=5 works on StaxRip software, but not in HandBrake.
HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.5.1 (2022011200)
Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Windows 11 Pro x64 21H2
I thank you very much in advance for your answers.
With Best Regards,
Jan Vokurka

Re: How to add x265-aMod (it add aq-mode=5), please?
This is not something we support I'm afraid. if such improvements ever hit the x265 project, they'll make it to HandBrake.
Re: How to add x265-aMod (it add aq-mode=5), please?
You can build from source
If you manage to build HandBrake without mods first, we can point you in the right direction as to how to swap the x265 tarball.
