Error message on attempt to upgrade from 1.1.11 to 1.5.1

Post by BKMacGuy »

Description of problem or question:
I used the in-app "Check for Updates" and attempted to upgrade from my current 1.1.1 to 1.5.1. At the end of the process I got the following error message: "Failed to change owner & group for Autoupdate with owner ID 501 and group ID 80". The update failed to install. v1.1.1 seemed to be working OK, I haven't used it much.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Repeated attempts produced the same result.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.1.1 and 1.5.1

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

A 2020 iMac 3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9, running macOS Monteray 12.2

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Note: I included the following in the pastebin post:
(1)Queue.hbqueue, (2)Handbrake-activitylog.txt, (3) UserPresets.json, (4) Activity Log. There is only one. I apologize if I included more than I was supposed to.

Code: Select all

You'll have to manually update. 1.1.1 is likely too old to auto-update.
