Setting for compressing video from iPhone

Post by fullforlife »

Description of problem or question:

I recently shot fitness videos on my iPhone. I have an iPhone 10, so it shoots high def videos, but not full high def.

I then edited the videos in iMovie and need to compress them. What are the best settings to use? I originally tried very fast 720p30, web optimized and changed the constant quality to 26, but the videos are VERY blurry.

I have about 35 videos to compress and put onto Vimeo. I don't want to have to re-do them all because of poor compression quality.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

I have the latest handbrake version and a Mac computer.

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

My operating system in macOS Big Sur

Compressing with Vimeo as a target, you should start with the presets that have "Vimeo YouTube" in their name.

Thank you! Do you have any suggestion as to which Vimeo Youtube preset to use? 1080p60 or 720p60?

1080p60 is a reasonable choice for modern phone video.
