Handbrake 1.3.0 dies when I open a .dvdmedia file

Post by bkomanet »

Description of problem or question:
Upgrading to the latest handbrake, when I try and open .dvdmedia files on the mac, the program just dissapears. I uninstalled 1.3.0 and went back to version 1.2.2 and the problem went away

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Install the latest version of Handbrake. Open as source a .dvdmedia file, and the program should just end. I do not know if it happens with all .dvdmedia files, but, two of them which I tried this past week both died. I only found by downgrading did the .dvdmedia files open correctly.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.3.0

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Mac OS 10.15.1

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

No log was found - the program seemed to die before the log was created.

Code: Select all

I am having the same issue, just didn't realize it might be related to the .dvdmedia extension:

Even if there is no activity log, if a program "dies", there should be a system log on what happened.

I've gone back to 1.2.2 for now until this is resolved.
