Subtitle is not reocgnized by handbrake

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
I am able to activate Subtitle via VLC

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.3.0

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Windows 10, 1903

Additional Informations:
- I am recording movies via vu+ ultimo box. Movie- format: ts, mpeg2
- I am cutting the movies with tsdoctor 2.0
- Because my Synology-NAS is running out of space I need to reduce File Sizes :)

Sorry, I forget to provide the following Information: Subtitle is included in ts-file!

HandBrake does not support DVB subtitles yet, sorry.

Thank you for the very fast answer! That is a good explanation. Otherwise handbrake would have to be corrected ;)

I found out that tsdoctor can demuxe a subtitle from ts files. Unfortunately I get the sup- format. Sup ist not supported (yet ;) ). I am looking now for a sup to srt converter. It looks like Subtitle Edit do the job.

Hello,
tsdoctor is able to create a srt file from DVB subtitles directly. You must activate it in the settings :)
