Actually the PPA'handbreak for Ubuntu is completely outdated, then why yours do not offer a build updated based in format snap or flatpak (both inclusive) since they are easier to keep updated?

We still have problems with flatpak. Once those are solved we'll likely be distributing flatpak bundles. Hopefully for 1.2 but it remains to be seen.
The PPA will shortly be updated with 1.1.0. We have to wait on a build queue there so it takes a little longer.
