Please describe what you would like to see added to HandBrake:
I would love to see Handbrake have the ability to automatically detect interlacing in video files and then set the appropriate tff or bff flag to maintain that interlacing in the output file. I imagine this as a "Maintain Interlacing" checkbox somewhere.
Why would you like to see this added:
I prefer to keep the interlacing of a source rather than deinterlace. I currently manually set the tff/bff flag and that works fine most of the time. However some sources have both interlaced and progressive content for the titles. For example some television shows have their episodes progressive and the special features interlaced. I can't 'add all' in these cases. Its currently kind of a pain to deal with these sources.
What version of HandBrake are you currently running:
0.10.5.0 - 64bit
What operating system and version and you currently running (e.g. OSX 10.11, Windows 7, Ubuntu 14):
Windows 7
Automatic interlace detection and setting of tff/bff flags

That's a lot of words, but offtopic from what OP actually wants.
