Encoding immediately stops

Post by David »

I am using Handbrake 0.9.4. I have been encoding movies from vob to mp4 format for an extended time. Just recently, Handbrake stopped encoding. It scans normally, and after starting the encoding process, the activity window pops up, immediately closes, and reports encoding finished. However, nothing has been accomplished. The log is as follows:

What are you using to pre-rip your DVD?

Try something else... DVD Shrink hasn't been updated in nearly 6 years and does not handle many of the newer copy protection systems. DVDFab HD Decrypter (free edition) is probably your best option.

I have also used DVD decyrpter. I have also tried to re-encode movies ripped with DVD shrink and already encoded previously with Hanbrake(I keep the Vob files) just to eliminate tue possibility of something besides Handbrake. Each movie I've tried that I have encoded previously will not encode now. I have used DVD fab previously also

Try disabling libdvdnav support.

No effect. Same thing happens. I've also removed Hanbrake and reinstalled.

How about you post the encode log instead of the scan log.

Code: Select all

MP4ERROR: MP4Open: failed
ERROR: muxmp4.c: MP4Create failed!
Does the destination folder exist, and do you have permission to write to it?

Yes. I use an external hard drive where I keep all my vob files and save my mp4 to.

Yes. I use an external hard drive where I keep all my vob files and save my mp4 to.

Code: Select all

 -i "F:\Movies\Hotel For Dogs" -t 1 -c 1-16 -o "E:\Iphone Movies\Hotel For Dogs-1.m4v"
Input & output on two different partitions. Try copying a file to this folder

Code: Select all

E:\Iphone Movies
to make sure you have write permissions.

Also note that handbrake will not create a folder that isn't already present, so if the folder "IPhone Movies" doesn't exist, handbrake will fail.
