Drag & Drop on Mac
I did search for this on Trac as well as I could, but I'm nervous.
Just to be able to drag a file onto the interface - as it works on Windows - would be sweet.

Re: Drag & Drop on Mac
I agree. It would be great if you could drag a DVD icon onto HandBrake's icon (toolbar or finder) and start the process. It always feels weird to start handbrake and then navigate to the source when it is visible on the desktop.
Re: Drag & Drop on Mac
I also would like the ability to drag and drop a file or folder onto the Source icon of the Handbrake interface. There is the add-on app Handbrake Batch at http://www.osomac.com/apps/osx/handbrake-batch/, but I would prefer this feature be built into Handbrake itself.
Re: Drag & Drop on Mac
I'd also love to be able to drag and drop but, failing that possibility, is there a way to add more than one item to the queue at a time. By this I mean selecting several items to be processed at once instead of selecting one, adding to the queue then selecting the next item etc.?

Re: Drag & Drop on Mac
You might be able to scan a folder at a time and then add all using the same preset to the queue.

yep, File > Add all titles to queue. When you scan a folder full of flat files (batch scan) each is added to the title dropdown. Then you can just use File > Add all titles to queue to load them all up with whatever preset or settings you have set. Should be about a four click process in total.ricric wrote:is there a way to add more than one item to the queue at a time. Re: Drag & Drop on Mac
Hi All,
I just wanted to know if this is still a wanted feature (drag & drop on the dock icon).
I've just finished a working version of it, I still need a day of tests but should be very quick though.
Let me know if you're still interested I can prepare a patch for review.
Cheers,
Jerome

Sure, sounds good.
Can you drag/drop onto the main window too?

I didn't tried yet since the drag & drop for the dock is very specific.s55 wrote:Sure, sounds good.

I will have a look to see if I can include it too in a timely fashion.
I will also probably PM you to confirm the workflow when users are drag & dropping.

Feel free, or jump on IRC if you wish.
What I was suggesting that instead of Source -> Open File they just drop a file (or folder) onto the main window, and it would just try to scan it.
Thanks

Ok that was my understanding too.s55 wrote:What I was suggesting that instead of Source -> Open File they just drop a file (or folder) onto the main window, and it would just try to scan it.
I've done that and it's working well.
The last thing I'm fixing, it's when we have more than one file dropped on the icon or the main window.
Since the performScan process is async (just discovered today), doing just a loop is far from enough.
Should be fixed before Monday nonetheless.
Hopefully I will submit the patch for review on Monday as well if tests are ok
