Decomb but lips still show interlacing

I have a number of titles that after using --decomb, interlacing is still noticable around lips when people speak.

Then change the parameters. Decomb is highly documented and highly customizable. The defaults are for it to detect significantly interlaced frames, with a priority placed on minimizing false positives. If the default was for it to catch even only tiny artifacting around lips when nothing else in the frame is moving, it'd also fire off on stuff like chain-link fences and underlined credits.

Considering the following 2 things as you suggested:
-5, --decomb Selectively deinterlaces when it detects combing
<MO:ME:MT:ST:BT:BX:BY> (default: 1:2:6:9:80:16:16)

I have one problem... I am but a simple idiot at heart... which value would you change if dealing with this problem?

A lower block threshold? A smaller block width and height? A lower motion threshold? A lower spatial threshold? Play around and figure it out.
