STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION on 0.93

Post by Metasyntactic »

Hey all, just updated and i'm trying to encode one of my DVDs. Unfortunately, i running into the aforementioned which i'm including in the log file below.

I've done a few searches to see if i can find any help on the matter, but unfortunately it looks like things are too new, and so the relevant info isn't in all the search engines yet.

If anyone can provide any help i'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

try running it in Administrator mode. (right click the icon, should be an option for it)
I don't really understand why some Vista machines don't like it and some do.

That did the trick!

Thanks!

FWIW, this is a plain vanilla Vista install on a machine i built 3 days ago. It has almost *nothing* on it. The only thing i've installed so far are a DVD ripper, and handbrake's 0.92 and 0.93 (you couldn't have released 2 days earlier?! :D )

Re: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION on 0.93

Post by s55 »

There are some known issues with universal input on the windows side of things. There appears to be a problem with the mmx instructions used in the ffmpeg libs.

Only solution is to compile the code from source with --disable-mmx for ffmpeg, thus making ffmpeg encoding really slow.

In other words, some universal input sources just won't work on windows, some will.

OK, I got it working by manually selecting the 5.1 track as the source audio for both track one and two. I then can select the settings for 5.1 on track two and the videos will encode.

Is there no way to keep chapters from the old encodes?
