AMD X2 6000+ 89W

Post by SomeoneElse »

Machine Type: Custom Build
CPU Speed: AMD X2 6000+ 89W (stock)
Number of CPUs: 2
RAM: 4GB G.Skill DDR2 800 (2x2GB, 4-4-4-12)
OS: Ubuntu Server 8.10 (64 bit) + Xfce 4
Rip Format: MP4
Encoder: x264
Quality / Bit Rate: 2500
1 or 2 Pass: 1

HandBrakeCLI Version: 0.9.3 Snapshot 5 (Compiled from SVN 1913 by following instructions on Wiki)
Preset = PS3

HandbrakeCLI command line used:
HandBrakeCLI -i /media/VirtualISO -o /home/anyuser/Seinfeld-S07-e06.mp4 --preset="PS3" --verbose --two-pass --turbo

DVD Source 1: Seinfeld - Season 07 - Disc 01 - Episode 06

Source 1 Avg FPS: 44.28

The source was an ISO on HDD2 loaded via Gmount-iso. The ISO was created using Slysoft AnyDVD from a Windows XP based machine and copied over via Samba.
HDD1 = 36GB SATA WD Raptor 10000 RPM, OS drive, this is where I saved the output (to my home folder).
HDD2 = 2.72TB Hardware RAID5 (4x1TB SATA WD connected to a 3ware 9650SE controller), storage drive, this is where the ISO files are kept.

Some other apps/services were running in the background...probably about 4% ram usage before starting HandBrakeCLI.

I have updated this post with correct benchmark results. As it turns out my original command line was incorrect. Sorry for any trouble or confusion and thank you jbrjake for bringing it to my attention.
