That was my reaction too at first, but my ship date still shows the 20th....

What I think -might- have happened is they charged everyone that will be in that first batch in order that they will be able to include those figures in the upcoming quarterly call for Wall Street.

Otherwise, the quarter won't look as good without the apple tv sales. Next quarter won't need them since there should be a surge of new mac sales with Leopard and updated pros, minis, etc.

I seriously doubt the reason was for 'quarterly results'. Im sure we're talking about a small number of units in comparison to Apples sales. Far less than a half percent at best.

Due to Sarbanes-Okley interpretations, it i very very unlikely that quarter results are a reason for this. They would be in some serious trouble if they reported earnings on sales of products that had not shipped. This is a no no. It is quite more likely that the order have been processed and sent out for fulfillment. I look forward to walking into the local Apple Store and picking one up next week.

You all must tell us what you think of the device as soon as you use it and how it works out. What I am wondering and hoping for really is that Apple starts selling HD Movies. If for a decent price it might be worth it to buy them from them than to buy HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, although it is nice having the actual movie in hand as well.
