Some DV files not correctly flagging DV on playback

Description of problem or question:
I've noticed that some DV files re-encoded by Handbrake are not correctly flagging DV playback correctly on some playback software e.g. emby - tested on Fire TV Max and Shield TV pro (2019).

It appears that the current version of Handbrake is adding multiple references to HDR into the HDR format field (visible in mediainfo).

If I demux the DV metadata out and reinject it in, the field looks normal showing a single HDR10 entry and the file correctly flags the playback device to play DV.

I'm having a similar problem - I wasn't sure if it was related to the Dolby Vision profile conversion in Handbrake (from 7.6 to 8.1) or the duplicate SMPTE data...

I found that the profile conversion is expected but upon reading your issue, suspect it might be the duplicate HDR info. Here is what my Handbrake HDR output looks like on MediaInfo:

I'm not familiar with the process you used to demux/remux the DV info. Do you have a suggestion where I could find the steps to do this???

FWIW - My Dune media players exhibited the exact same issue - not recognizing Dolby Vision content when there were duplicate SMPTE tags.

A simple and quick fix is to run the HB output through MakeMKV - all it's doing is copying the content but it seems to build new header metadata without the duplication of HDR tags. After this, the HB output plays correctly as Dolby Vision.
