DRC AC3 -> E-AC3 possible?

DRC AC3 -> E-AC3 possible?

Hi all. The docs state that for using DRC the source has to be AC3 and the output something other than AC3, like AAC. Can i use E-AC3 for output? I've been trying that but can't say i notice much difference when using a value of 2.5 for DRC.
