When a file is read in, the original name is ignored and a thumbnail is used instead

Post by gswzb41 »

Description of problem or question:

I am working with Handbrake 1.7.2. on my Mac ( Sonoma 14.1.2. ) and recently I have the following problem:

1. a file is loaded from the source with the extension . Screenflow

2. the file looks like this, for example Webinar105.screenflow.

3. under SOURCE, however, webinar105..screenflow is not displayed (see screenshot) but the source name begins with thumbnail, 2560*1800 ........

4. the result is that no conversion to an mp4 file takes place.

I have never had this phenomenon before. In the past
there have never been any problems at this point.

Who can say something about this and how to fix the problem? ?

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.7.2

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Mac ( Sonoma 14.1.2. )

A .screenflow is a folder containing many files. I guess the actual video is inside the ScreenFlowDocument.dat file, but it seems HandBrake can't handle it.

Thank you for pointing this out.

If this is the case, what can be done to solve the problem ?
I have tried to convert some other screenflow files to mp4.
The same thing happens in all cases.
What was working perfectly in the past, no longer does.

Perhaps you can tell me what would be useful to do?

Many thanks

Hi,

I went deeper and found the following activity log.

It often mentions failed. The only question is why ?
Who can interpret this with regard to a possible cause?

Input #0, luodat, from '/Volumes/Guenter/Desktop/##24-01-01 ERTC Do Good .screenflow/ScreenFlowDocument.dat':
Duration: N/A, bitrate: N/A
[13:23:30] hb_stream_open: open /Volumes/Guenter/Desktop/##24-01-01 ERTC Do Good .screenflow/ScreenFlowDocument.dat failed
[13:23:30] batch: scanning /Volumes/Guenter/Desktop/##24-01-01 ERTC Do Good .screenflow/thumbnail.jpg
Input #0, image2, from '/Volumes/Guenter/Desktop/##24-01-01 ERTC Do Good .screenflow/thumbnail.jpg':

Thank you for everything that helps.

Hi,

As you can see, the complete file has a volume of 5.96 GB.
However, the Screenflow.dat file only shows around 10 KB.

https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code ... 4wVcDBFYV

My amateur guess:

The Screenflow source file is not provided in the actual size of 5.96 GB.
This is why the conversion with the Handbrake software doesn't work ?

Is this assumption correct? If YES, would the error have to be
Screenflow be searched ?

Many thanks

I guess the actual recording is in the .scc file, but it could be a proprietary format that HandBrake can't handle.
