Today my Windows 10 computer bit the dust so to speak. I owned the computer for 8 years and it was a disk hard drive instead of an SSD. Fortunately I had an external hard drive and I backed up all my files before the hard drive crashed. I have some videos I processed in Nero prior to my computer crashing. Since I'm new to handbrake, I need some assistance.
I own a Kodak easy share camera that records in the .mov format. I'm wanting to convert my videos from that format to the AVI format. The AVI format was the default format of my Nero software. When I load one of my old AVI videos that I converted in Nero, will Handbrake show me the presets of that video? I want to convert all of my future .mov video files into the AVI format that I was using in my Nero software.
I'm using Handbrake 1.6.1 on an Ubuntu Linux computer. My current Ubuntu version is the lunar lobster version.

No, and HB doesn't support AVI output.

Re: From Nero To Handbrake
According to this article Handbrake can convert MOV files to AVI. [removed] It also says that the VLC player can do the same thing. Is either statement true?
Re: From Nero To Handbrake
AVI has been removed many years ago, because it's an old container format that doesn't support any of the modern features used these days. Unless you have a player that supports only AVI, it would be better to avoid it.

Okay. I can convert my videos to .mp4. But my Kodak Easy Share only records MOV format. Will I be able to convert these files?
