How to find a key frame?

Post by Djard »

I want to trim off a section at the start of a video clip but want to preserve starting on an I-frame. Is there a way to identify the frame types (I,B,P) in Handbrake?

HandBrake always re-encode the video, so you don't need to cut on a keyframe, because the re-encoded video will always start on one.

Thank you kindly. But what if I needed to trim the beginning of a video?

Reading what was sent to you, the frame you cut on will become a "key frame", because handbrake will generate one for it as the start.
