Big size differance between identical encoding settings

Post by sniperspy60 »

Description of problem or question:
I encoded the same file on two different computers and one turned out to 1.75GB and the other to 2.4GB
One different setting is the subtitle burn in but the file does not have any subtitles so in my understanding that should not matter.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Encode the same file with the settings in the log on a gtx 1060 and an rtx 3060.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.6.1

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Windows 10 pro 22H2

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Code: Select all

Different GPUs have different hardware encoders on them that will give different results.
