First line of subs not showing

Hello,

In some cases I find the first line of subtitle missing in my mkv-file.
Earlier I experienced this by a single movie, and now there is a serie where every episode misses the first line of subs.
The iso has the whole subs. After Handbrake makes mkv-files the first line of subs are missing.

I tried two earlier versions of Handbrake, and I tried other films. In the earlier versions of Handbrake the same problem exists, en with other films/series the most of the time the problem does not exist. There was a single movie where I experienced the same problem.

My Handbrake version is 1.6.1 (2023012300)

My information: Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.22621.0

Hello,

At the serie 'The Staircase' is this problem also.
At the beginning of several chapters is the first line of the subtitles missing, not at the beginning of every chapter.
I found out the by 'burned in' all subtitles are showed, but by 'default' several times the first line is missing.
I like to use 'default' so you can make the subtitels bigger on the tv.

I made a link to a dropbox file with the Activity Log, of the Encoding of three times an episode: 'Forced Only', 'Burn In', and 'Default'. I choose the 'Nederlands'.

I haven't found out why the first lines are several times missing at the 'Default'. Does someone know, and can tell me how to fix this? I would appreciate this a lot.

I encoded the fifth episode of 'The Staircase' in three different ways. There are 9 Chapters. The first 7 Chapters contain spoken text and subtitles. The Burned In subtitles contains all lines of the subtitles. The Default Subtitles misses every first 'subtitle' of each Chapter.

Does turning off the Comb Detection and Decomb filters to Off help at all? What are you using to play the output file?

I turned the 'Interlace Detection' and 'Deinterlace' off. Unfortunately didn't this solve the problem.

I want to play my video on a Dune HD.
On my computer I test the files with VLC Media Player.
Now I tried also Windows Mediaplayer, Windows Films and TV, and Windows Photo's.
