Will HandBrake use media engine to speed up the conversion in M2 Mac?

Post by JWSL2W »

Description of problem or question:
Hi, just thinking buying a new M chip Mac (M2 or the series),
As the apple M chips built-in the media engine, will handbrake use it?
Or only use CPU for the conversion?

Or both? CPU+ media engine, like Final Cut Pro.

Thanks~~

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.6.1

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

Mac OS Ventura

Yes, if you limit yourself to the codecs it supports and select the VideoToolBox encoder.
