Optional Hardware accelerated video encoding?
I don't have any current problems with Handbrake. I'm using a MacPro cylinder with Monterey installed. I saw an option in the settings for "Optional Hardware accelerated video encoding" but couldn't find further information. What options are available for Mac users? Thanks.

Re: Optional Hardware accelerated video encoding?
I suspect the older MacPro will probably lack hardware encoding. Even if it does, it'll be very early hardware encoder and not worth using.

Thank you. The handbrak.fr/docs page was not loading for me when I tried it previously. A glitch in the matrix I suppose. It worked this time.

Using Handbrake 1.6.0 on intel macs.
My 2010 MacPro with High Sierra shows no VideoToolbox option.
On my 2011 17" MacBookPro with High Sierra, an H264 VideoToolbox option appears.
My 2013 12core MacPro cylinder with D700x2 and Monterey shows no VideoToolbox option. I thought this one would have it.

The Intel Quick Sync hardware encoder was usually placed on the integrated GPU. Xeon chips don't have one.
macOS supports the hardware encoders on AMD GPUs from ~2015 and newer, but yours are probably too old.
