videos are not encoded in order

Post by fedroga »

Description of problem or question:

been using handbrake for months but still haven't been able to figure out how to get the videos to render in order. It happens to me that I have a folder which I import to handbrake and when I click encode, in the resulting folder where the processed videos are archived, they all appear out of order and different from the order in which they were in my source folder.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.3.3 (2020061300)

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

windows 10. latest update

by date, tried a lot of different types of "order by date" in windows folder and none of them do any significant change once imported to handbrake

IIRC HandBrake scans files (and adds them to the title list) in the order they are present on the hard disk. That's not something most graphical file explorers will be able to display, however.
