Hi, i have a questions about the auto crop (removing black bends) function. Recently i started to rip some 4k blurays to 1080p and noticed a strange behavior.
When i choose the ripping settings, disabling autocrop nothing changes (resulting resolution its still 1920x1080) and in fact the resulting file its 1920x1080, on mediainfo and all other apps. However when i open that file on vlc (windowed mode) its clearly 1920x800 (without bends).
Different story with bluray movies (1080p). Ive tried some and all of them are immediately swtiching to 1920x800 while still on settings (i mean the greyed values), and resulting files are of course 1920x1080

While on imax movies (4k) its a total mess... on Tenet i get imax scenes recognized, as i have setup the number of preview frames to 60, however the resulting file is: on imax scenes i have 2 small bends; on normal scenes the upper bend its still small while the down bend its bigger, with the image decentered towards up.
On interstellar, selecting auto or no-crop, i have in both situations 1920x1080 (greyed values), however if i select auto, the resulting file have imax scenes cropped, while file properties says 1920x1080 when its actually 1920x800
Now, i imagine that for imax movies i have simply to disable autocrop function.But what about the other issue?

I've not tried any IMax movies, but I recall notes about some of them NOT being "100% IMax".

If the source disk mixes resolutions, you won't get that mix in the handbrake output. Handbrake will output a single resolution, so you'll see whichever one it chose to use.
