Using Handbrake for OBS Screen Recording

Post by NickSteel »

Description of problem or question:

I record in OBS at 1600x900 with 60 fps and 2 key frames and 2 B frames.
In Handbrake, I use the HQ1080p30 template with fps same as source and constant framerate.
Should I also be using 2 key frames and 2 B frames as in OBS?
If so, how do I do this?

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

Your encoding settings from OBS are now irrelevant. HB is going to decode the video to raw pixels as the first step.

Focus your HB settings on the constraints of your intended playback environment, your tolerance for encoding speed, and your preference for size or quality.

What is the purpose of this reencode? Editing? Smaller size? Better compatibility?
