Hi there,
I am using Handbrake 1.3.3 to encode my homevideos with the „very slow“ preset and constant quality 12 with x265. The RAW-files to be encoded are exported from Final Cut in the ProRes 422 HQ format.
My 10900K (Windows 10) is fully loaded (all cores at 100%) and I get around 0.5 frames per second during the encoding.
In order to get higher encoding speeeds, would it be better to switch to a 3950x or to a Threadripper 3970X? It seems obvious that Handbrake could use more than 10 cores / 20 threads for my pupose.
Would be nice if someone could comment on this.
Thanks,
Chris

Sorry I can‘t since my rig is not working at the moment. The mainboard has a defect and I had to send it off for a repair.
Thats also why I am think aboutan upgrade to a 3950x or a Threadripper...
