Saving in the wrong format

Description of problem or question:

I have been putting a 2GB Video into handbrake to compress, when the compression finishes it saves as a document not an MP4. I am doing everything you're supposed to do, so confused why this is happening. Help would be most appreciated!!

If you had included the required activity log, we would be able tell you what you used as the output file name, and why having the incorrect extension (or no extension) would be problematic. But, you didn't, so we can only guess at what you did.
