Handbrake "Send file to"

Post by paolo83 »

Description of problem or question:

I have seen that in Windows version is it possible specify to sand the end of encoding status to a *.bat file to provide an email notification.
In MacOS the same option allow only link *.app files and no script (for example *.sh).
I'd like to send a notification for ended encoding to a script that will send me an email for notification.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

The option "Send file to" is in general window in preferences of Hanbrake.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

The current version installed is Hanbrake 1.3.1 for MacOS

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Re: Handbrake "Send file to"

As a workaround, you may create a .app that runs a shell script using Apple Automator.

Many thanks, I have tried your suggestiona and it's works perfectly.
I have compiled the following actions in Automator:
  • set value of varible
  • get value of varible (pass imput as agrument)
  • shell script (/bin/bash)
And the script in something like this

Code: Select all

export PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:$PATH
# Mail
MAILnotPUSH="mymail@myprovider.com"

# Receptor
String="$1"
# Pushover Notification
echo “Encoding Completed: $String" | mutt -s "Handbrake" "$MAILnotPUSH”
NOTE: I use mutt instead mail because I just use this terminal mail program.
