"No valid source or titles found"

Post by E_J »

Hi there. I'm new to the HandBrake, and its forum. I came here after a discussion on the Movie Studio forum, with very little results.

Description of problem or question:

Using 1.3.1. I have some videos from a security camera system that I would like to burn onto a video DVD. Those files do not open in Movie Studio (missing codec); but I also can't open them in HandBrake (which is what the Movie Studio guys recommended).

HandBrake tells me "no valid source or titles found", followed by a list of possible reasons. Please see the activity log below.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

Opening several files from the same video security system always results in the same error.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.3.1

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

Windows 8.1.

Thank you,

Erik

It's probably using a non-standard code for HEVC. Can you provide a short sample (only a few seconds) to Dropbox or similar?

Short? No, sorry.

I am uploading a 21 minute video to my Google Drive. It's 16 MB. It was recorded during the test phase and contains nothing personal or objectionable. Feel free to have a look at it. I'll provide the link when it's uploaded; we have super slow internet around here...

Fix sent, it may take a week or so for it to be available in nightly builds.

I can confirm, that with the patch applied, the video from above opens and converts nicely in HandBrake.
