Washed out colours after encode

Description of problem or question:
HandBrake seems to be washing out the colours of my VHS capture, I recorded the VHS capture in a lossless format. Before encode, after encode

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Encode the video with the default fast 480p preset

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
HandBrake 1.3.1

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Windows 10 1909

I've fixed the issue, it only gets washed out when the video is cropped, so I just disabled the cropping feature and it looks even better than the original now!

Welcome to the Placebo Effect!

Encoding is a lossy process. If there is an imperceptible difference then that's probably a decent encode. Might still be some room for some filesize / encode optimisation but if your happy, great.

Don't get me wrong quality was lost however the colour reproduction is more vibrant and the encoding process also removed a lot of the blocking and grain which makes it slightly more pleasant to watch. Before encoding, after encoding. Sorry for the pixelation, I'm just a bit too cautious
