ISO source exiting during title scan

Post by solstyce »

Description of problem or question:

I'm in the process of digitizing my personal DVDs to host on my home media server. I create ISOs during the day via ImgBurn, and then batch convert them at night. I've found a few DVDs I've converted to ISO where Handbrake exits without warning or error during title scan of the ISO.

Thanks in advance for any tips or solutions!

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

- Create ISO of problematic DVD e.g. I Love You Man, Gone Baby Gone, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay Uncut with ISO creator (ImgBurn or BurnAware)
- Verify ISO is correct, e.g. play in VLC, can be mounted on Windows and folders & files viewed.
- Start Handbrake
- Select ISO as source file
- See Handbrake exit without error or warning during title scan

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.3.0

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

Win 10 Home 64-bit

One workaround might be to mount the ISO and point HandBrake at that.

Mounting the image didn't change anything.

For anyone else who runs into this problem, I found unchecking the "use libdvdnav" option in the Advanced tab of the preferences allowed me to complete the title scan and convert the iso.
