MP4 vs M4V

Description of problem or question:
When I select MP4 as the default output for a screen record capture, the save output shows M4V.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

Windows 10 Pro

Dumb naming thing for Apple compatibility. No actual change to file contents. You can change the behavior in settings.

I change in Tools/Preferences/Output Files to "Always use MP4", but it ignores it.
I am just changing it on the "Save as" line.
