Transcode fail (udfread ERROR: ECMA 167 Volume Recognition failed)

Post by beavdog »

Upon attempting transcode, the program runs for approximately two seconds, then the completion screen comes up. Obviously the encode didn't run, because the end result is a file with a 0 byte size.

HandBrake version 1.2.2

Windows 10, version 1809, OS build 17763.437

HandBrake Activity Log provided...thank you in advance for any insight into this matter.

[ipod @ 00000141c79b7600] Could not find tag for codec eac3 in stream #1, codec not currently supported in container
muxavformat: avformat_write_header failed!

Looks like eac3 is not supported in mp4 container.

Only if you request the iPod Atom (for the 5th generation iPod ).

Yes, turning off the iPod 5G support on the main tab did the trick. I want to thank both of you... rollin_eng and Rodeo... I really appreciate the help, and I realize that not enough people thank you on the thread. Your help is both valued and appreciated. Hopefully I won't need to bother you again. Have a great day!

Just FWIW, that checkbox is for really really old iPods that probably no longer even power on nowadays. And you would need to adjust other settings too, the checkbox by itself is not enough to make the output iPod-compatible.
