Security camera - no valid source found

Post by morgangold »

Description of problem or question:
I've grabbed some footage from a security camera that I'm trying to convert to .mp4.
It comes as a .avi.
It plays fine in VLC.
No subs, can't imagine there's copy protection.

When trying to add to Handbrake, I get the 'no valid source found' error.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Dropbox link to one of the files:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bl4jec5jth4o9 ... 6.avi?dl=0

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.2.0

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
macOS 10.14.2

It looks like hevc in avi is not supported in FFmpeg, or the specific variant your camera is using. Please open an issue on https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake
