How to save high Mbps (over 19.5 Mbps)?

Post by Tomi »

Description of problem or question:
How to save high Mbps (over 19.5 Mbps)?

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Edit 4K/100Mbps footage from camera in FCPX and export as master file (Apple lossless, ap. 10GB, 450 Mbps, 3 min). Convert file with Handbrake to 4K/60Mbps MP4 or MKV file. Handbrake outputs file that is ap. 19.5 Mbps and filesize 450MB. Handbrake will not output higher than 19.5 Mbps, which is too low for high quality 4K.

If I use Apple Compressor to export project from FCPX using 60 Mbps MP4 or MOV file, the output is 60 Mbps 1.45GB file.
I would like to use Handbrake in all my conversion as it seems to do better quality than Apple Compressor in lower bitrate files. I want to be able to delete original footage and project files in FCPX, but first I need to be able to save high bitrate MP4, MKV or MOV version of the project.

HandBrake version:
1.1.2 Mac
Operating system and version:
macOS 10.14
