Encoding stops after 1-2 minutes

Post by Donkeyontheedge »

Description of problem or question:
I have a DVD of home videos that I want to convert to MP4 for editing in iMovie. The movie is 52 minutes and plays the full length on the Mac DVD player. When I attempt to convert it, it starts but them stops after 1-2 minutes and says it has finished.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

Restarted Computer. Tried 3 times. Read the forums, checked the HandBrake version.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.1.2

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

macOS Sierra 10.12.6

error: dvdnav: Read Error, Error reading from DVD.

Perhaps take a moment to ensure the recorded surface of the disc is clean.

You could also try ripping with makemkv first.
