How to resize multiple individual videos at once to same size?

Post by Emmy66 »

Description of problem or question:

I have up-to 200 videos of different frame size (height and width) and I want all of them with same height and width. But definitely, it would be time taking if I resize all of them one by one. I tried adobe premier but it creates sequence instead of individual videos.

I've given a try to above software but it always says no valid source or title found for 'batch scan folder' having silent videos in mp4 format.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
1. folder (Batch Scan)
2. select folder

ERROR
no source or title found. This happens only for batch selection of below videos

HandBrake version is 1.1.1:

To do what you ask will require the use of the command line interface, because the GUI will not arbitrarily increase the size of a video, only shrink to a maximum size.

If you are ALWAYS shrinking the video to a smaller size, you can save the smaller size as a constraint in a preset, and it should do what you're looking for. If not, then the CLI will be needed.

If the characteristics of the video (audio tracks, subtitle tracks, etc.) are the same except for the size, building a batch file for either the handbrake CLI or one of the other programs out there like ffmpeg would be relatively simple.

Hello Emmy66,

I'm actually working on the ASL Signbank and trying to do the same thing as you! I have a folder on my computer of 100 files that I want to resize in the same way for the ASL Signbank. At first, I thought it might have been that the audio was scrubbed that was the issue (based on your email). But I just ran the same command on my computer opening a folder of multiple files and then viewed my activity log - the videos are too short. If I'm right, that may be the same issue for you.

My activity log here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/3xsu9kqpcc191 ... g.rtf?dl=0

I ran the same command on another folder with longer movie files between 7 to 12 seconds long - and the Handbrake app loaded them all except the 7-second length one and I was able to add them as a batch.

Activity log for that here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vw79beo07fel9 ... 2.rtf?dl=0
