Hey. I builded a computer few months back, everything is normal but when i use HandBrake, example my CPU goes nuts. Normally i have it on 40-50c but when i'm converting a file it goes to 80-82.
Here is screenshot about my temperatures when i'm converting a file:

Like you can see, example CPU is at 80, while normally it is on 40-50.
So my question is how long in a day its safe to run handbrake ? Cuz i dont want my computer to go broken u know
My temperatures when i'm not using handbrake:

Video encoding is computationally intensive. 80C is fine. If you have any stability related issues, you likely have inadequate cooling or power.
Re: How long is safe to run Handbrake? [CPU goes nuts while encoding]
Adequate cooling is key. It is possible to run 100% continuously and keep temperatures under 60C... it just takes a really good CPU cooler, and getting the hot air away from the cooler. If you're using the "stock" manufacturer's cooler, getting hot air out of the case is especially important.

I've run handbrake for several days at a stretch without issue. My CPU temps never exceed the low 50s.
Re: How long is safe to run Handbrake? [CPU goes nuts while encoding]
It would be nice to be able to choose the number of CPUs and the % of usage, like others encoding software. It's a way to control the temperature.

In most operating systems, you can set the "affinity" of a process, i.e., how many cores it uses. It's part of the operating system.
It is not a GOOD way to control temperature.

heat sink and compound can make many degrees of difference. also some power supply's run little high on voltage and can make cpus run hotter. make sure the cpu gets a good amount of cool are into it. Some cases do not have direct cool air to the cpu.
