mpv vs mp4 format

Description of problem or question:
I set the fomat to convert my mov videos to mp4 but they produce m4v instead. What am I doing wrong?



Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):




HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.10 64 bit


Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):




HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Thanks. I saw somewhere else that the formats were almost the same. This says they are the same.

As explained in the article, though, some players do not TREAT the extensions the same.

I have a TV that won't play an MP4 across the network unless it has the m4v extension. Same TV refuses to play MKV files, unless they have an avi extension, and those are incompatible formats. "Smart TVs" aren't very.
