Handbrake 1.0.7 crashes on encode

Post by seenplastic »

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible:
Attempting to encode any Blu Ray ripped into an MKV results in a crash. Depending on the quality of the encode preset (Fast, Very Fast, etc) the encode process may last longer but it ends up crashing every time. MKV's from DVDs complete successfully without error.

Tell us about your environment. What version of HandBrake? What version of Windows are you running. etc.
OS: Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.15063.0 - 32bit
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz
Ram: 3031 MB,
GPU Information:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 - 21.21.13.4201
Screen: 1680x1050

If there was any exception or error displayed, please copy it and paste it here:
Windows Event Viewer shows two error logs:
Application: HandBrake.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: exception code c0000005, exception address 04C1BCB2

and

Faulting application name: HandBrake.exe, version: 1.0.7.0, time stamp: 0x58ea9fc2
Faulting module name: hb.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x58ea9eba
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0013bcb2

Please include the scan or encode log:

Code: Select all

Hmm, looks like the decoder got zero frames. Perhaps try the current nightly build of HandBrake and see how that works. If you’re still having issues, it would be good to see a log from that version.

That would be the subtitle scan pass.

To me it looks like the GUI is stopping the encode for some reason? libhb doesn't seem to throw any error before then…
