Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible:
I want to play these videos in a Samsung smart tv. The videos encoded in M4V won't play, but the one in MP4 does. Reason why I'm trying to convert them all to MP4.
However, I don't see an option in Handbrake for this. In the Destination section I only see MPEG-4 and Matroska. MPEG-4 does seem like MP4, but it yields a different extention (.m4v), hence I would not think this is what I'm looking for (is it?).
Tell us about your environment. What version of HandBrake? What version of Linux / Unix are you running. etc.
0.10.2 (x86_64) for Ubuntu Linux (16.04 LTS)

Just rename it, they are the same.
Get the latest version and there should be an option in the preferences for this.
