I am using Handbrake 1.0.4 (x86_64) on Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.
When I load a DVD or video file, automatically some fields are filled out in the Tags section. Although I delete them before starting the job or putting the job on the waiting list, they appear later on the output file.
So far I used mkvpropedit to set the field for title empty, but now I have a file where artist etc. are filled. And with that I can't edit it with mkvpropedit.
I assume it is some bug that causes the automatically filled values for the tags to appear although they are deleted. Would be perfect if this can be fixed.
Tags appear in mkv File although they are deleted

Re: Tags appear in mkv File although they are deleted
libav fills in meta data itself. I've asked about it in the past, but handbrake isn't supplying the values being inserted.
I believe there are a few "feature requests" to allow overriding this automatic meta data.

Re: Tags appear in mkv File although they are deleted
Can one stop it from that in general?
Actually I don't want anything in there.
If I remember right, the Windows version didn't do it.

This was fixed in https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/ ... 8e92769e6e
But never made it into a release.

Re: Tags appear in mkv File although they are deleted
I don't get it. So there is a fix for it, but it is not implemented yet and there is no hope it will be implemented in the future?
Re: Tags appear in mkv File although they are deleted
The fix was implemented but it's not available in public releases. Only nightly builds. (I.e it'll be released in the next update sometime later this year.)

Re: Tags appear in mkv File although they are deleted
So if I install handbrake nightly it would be fixed? Good to know.
But with nightly maybe some things are buggy I guess.
Anyway thanks for your work. I really love your software.
