Notification per queue instead of per title

Post by RichardTench »

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible:

Hi. Since v 1.0.7 I get notified as each title completes. I prefer a single notification when the entire queue has completed (in my case that's typically the titles I have selected from a DVD). I've done a search of this forum on "Notifications" and saw only one other person having a similar problem, and it looked from a response that it was not supposed to happen. Is this a problem with what I'm doing or is it the new desired behaviour?

Tell us about your environment. What version of HandBrake? What version of OSX are you running. etc.

Handbrake v 1.0.7 on macOS Sierra 10.12.5, iMac mid-2010 with 16 GB RAM and lots of free storage.

If there was any exception or error displayed, please copy it and paste it here:

None, just the repeated notifications

Please include the scan or encode log:

I can't figure out where the log begins for execution of a single queue, hopefully the following has it right!

Notifications are for each queue item. The alert is run only at the end of the queue.

I too wish there was a notification just for the entire queue, and not per individual item. Older versions of Handbrake used to behave this way, but the most recent updates switched to a notification per item.

When you're doing a batch of 30+ items, it gets annoying. There any way to switch it back to the old behaviour?

Yes, it's open source software.

Pardon? Is your remark to imply that because it's open source I should get the software and fix it myself? Well, not everyone does that.

The software used to behave differently. Someone manually made a decision to change that behavior, I just want it back the old way, so it'd be nice if there was an option for it. If there IS one, I can't find it.

Yes, you asked if there was a way to get the old behavior, and I was providing a way to get the old behavior.

If that's beyond your abilities, that's fine, but you can't have the old behavior.
