I am using the latest version of HandBrake (1.0.7) and am having a issue with the La La Land Blu Ray. I used DVDFab to make a backup copy and that seems OK but for some reason Handbrake missed the last 10? minutes or so of the movie when converting to an MP4 file. I have had this issue with other Blu Rays but making a DVDFab Mainmovie backup solved the problem. Not so with La La Land. Am I the only one having this problem? Is there something else I should try?
I give up! Pastebin seems to want $30 to join and I could not figure out how to attach the log file you want to see without joining. I guess I'll live without the La La Land MP4 file. This is the first Blu Ray that I could not find a way to make Handbrake work. Too bad this site does not have the ability to just attach a file for dummies like me.
Ok, Pastebin is pretty neat. Finally took a few minutes to find a brief tutorial. Hopefully, this will give an indication on what went wrong that caused Handbrake to cut the movie short. Also, as I said above this same issue has occurred several times when trying to transcode a complex Blu Ray in the DVDFAb Full Disk mode. Running DVDFab in Mainmovie mode has always fixed the problem until La La Land.
Took awhile but I finally got around to using Makemkv and Handbrake and unfortunately got the same result as I did with DVDFab and Handbrake. The last part of the movie is missing in the MP4 file. So...it ain't the guy who is making the backup. As I said above, I have had several cases where the Bluray was complex (many files in the Stream folder) and I would have to tell DVDFab to use the Mainmovie format before Handbrake would convert the whole to movie to an MP4 file.
I posted the Log from DVDFAb and Handbrake above and never got a response. Maybe this version of the Log will turn out better? The Log is HUGE. Should I clear the Log in Handbrake before running?

Use MakeMKV to rip the main title to an MKV file, then feed that MKV file to HB.
HB doesn't do so well with disk structures.
We have way fewer issues with BD structures than we do with DVD. I'd recommend starting with the structure, but yeah when it doesn't work, using MakeMKV to create a main movie MKV file and re-encoding that with HandBrake is indeed the logical next step.
This is a scan log, rather than the encode log. Other than the scan being manually stopped by the user, HandBrake appears to perform normally and not encounter any issue here.

185290 video frames at 24000/1001 (23.976) frames per second is about 128 minutes and 48 seconds, which is in line with the official runtime for La La Land, as far as I can tell.
How did you come to the conclusion that the output is 10 minutes short?
