[svn6926] Scan Completed. Setting up the job for encoding ...

Post by Ayoross »

Hi,

I do have a problem with latest build (I was trying the new HEVC build). When I click the start button, everything seems to work (start button becomes stop etc), but there is no encode job launching...

Maybe your ISO is a bad rip. Have you tried any other sources?

Yea looks like a bad rip and/or still contains protections HB can't deal with. Try ripping to a file with MakeMKV or a folder with AnyDVD.

Because of the AC-3 errors? Looks fairly clean to me otherwise, and AC-3 errors are fairly common since we decode it with libav, it's found on many other logs. Bad rip wouldn't necessarily be my first guess…

Hi,
I have the very same problem with SVN 6933 (actually, I've had a similar issue in SVN 6837 too, but I didn't keep the log so not sure if it was 100% the same back then), when trying to encode in x265. Log:

Also similarly to OP, same source works fine on Handbrake 0.10.0.

Beta 2 is on the 0.10.x stream, not the 1.0 stream so doesn't use the new libhb feature.

The nightly hasn't been fixed yet. I've not had much time lately, nor have I seen the issue yet.

Oh, sorry, wasn't aware it was a different branch. Anyway, since you can't reproduce it, here's a file with which it occurs:
http://megabitload.com/download/index/38934243/ (very low quality since I just recompressed it quickly with beta 2 to obtain a small file)

+ the corresponding log, note the new additional details at the end (using SVN 6963), also now the encoding doesn't stall forever, on the contrary it terminates immediately

OK, the exception at the end of that log is the clue.

The question now is, why is it doing that. Are you using a custom preset? Have you tried deleting and re-creating it?

Oh, right, indeed I was using a custom preset and now that I deleted it and recreated it, it works :) Thanks!

It works again for me too (svn6978), I deleted all old presets.
