Need help scanning all titles

Post by Henry234 »

Hey everyone I'm new here but I have been using handbrake for quite some
time and I love it! Just one tinsy winsy little problem, handbrake just
can't seem to find all the titles. It seems that handbrake will just scan
for the longest title and exclude all the other titles. Am I right? I know
that my dvd has more. I have a 1 hour long video and a 40 minute long video
but where is the 40 minute long video? It's just not showing up in the
title drop down menu.

How do I scan my entire dvd and make handbrake show me all the titles I
have on it and not just the main movie?
(Like the trailers, extras, etc...)

Do you have access to the original disc, rather than a copy run through DVD Shrink?

Unfortunately my old copy is scratched up to hell. When ever I insert the disc it will play for a few seconds then freeze. Is there still any help for me?

Does the DVD Shrink image have the other titles?

Is there a rental(movies or games) shop near by which you might be able to take the disc in and have it polished? Or do you have enough rough discs to warrant purchasing a disc polishing device?

If those aren't options then you might have to either go without the other title, or replace the disc.

Short of the use of a proper disk polisher, there are "less costly" things you can try on scratched disks. I've had very good luck with using Pledge furniture polish and a soft cotton cloth to clean/wax disks. Somewhat more aggressive is to use a low-abrasion tooth paste and a wet finger to polish off the sharp edges, and the wax to clean it off.

But, if it's really bad, you need the proper tools.

You might also try extracting the files with MakeMKV, to see if you can get that last title.

Yes it does have the other tiles in the .ISO file. I mounted the .ISO file and played it and the 40 minute title plays fine so I know that the .ISO does have the title. I tried novus plastic polish but it is total junk. Is it possible to burn the .ISO file to disc and then rip it again to my hardrive?

Have you tried MakeMKV to extract the file as an MKV from the ISO?
